I’m Jo Portnoy, and I’m married to Joe… Working together we are The Jo(e)s. It's super cute and easy to remember.
Jo is the Photo lead and Joe runs a lot of the hidden sides of this business. Over the last 15 years we have photographed together and separately hundreds of weddings and families. We have 3 young girls, named Clara, Eleanor, and Poppy. Our family is our obsession.
We believe marriage is amazing, it has been a foundation that has helped us weathered the storms of life. One of our girls has a critical heart defect, which has righted our compass by keeping us focused on pursuing joy and prioritizing relationships. She has taught us to stay present and captivated in every moment. This is what makes photographs so precious to us. I love that our photos have memorialized the beautiful mundane, the lows and the big wins. I want that for you!

Our Process
Working with us starts with a conversation. We want to show you our work and let you meet us, to be sure we are a good fit! We will answer all your questions and can probably tell you a few good stories.
Engagement photos! Engagement photos provide you with some beautiful, less formal, portraits you can use for communicating with your guests. The real benefit is that you learn how great you are at taking photos and we get to know you better. Our goal is always to make this fun and relaxed while pulling out the most beautiful photos of you.
Partnering in Planning. In the planning process I love getting to partner with couples to make their timeline. Guiding you through making a timeline, lets me take on the responsibility to capture your day and allows you to stay present to enjoy your loved ones! I always try to meet my couples before their wedding to talk through their final details so I can capture everything important to you. I’m great at knowing how the visual elements will translate for photos and am always up for talking through those details!
Wedding day Coverage! On your wedding I am a peaceful and fun presence. Because I am flexible and a chameleon with your guests, I often feel like family at your wedding. This helps everyone relax around my cameras, letting us capture the unfiltered emotion of the day! I love being able to not just capture you, but also the guests you have.
Your photos. We deliver all of our images in an online gallery for you to easily download and use to your hearts desire. The best thing we deliver, are our albums! All of our wedding packages have an album credit which allows us to create a beautiful hand made album together, that you will be able to cherish forever. They are beautiful!
Joe and I have been married for 14 years and have been photographing weddings even longer. Photography was a shared love that brought us together and enriches our family.
